Nairobi Hosts a Celebration of Glamour; Sinitta flies in from London to support the cause Nairobi, 27 April 2009. FAFA - Festival for Arts and Fashion in Africa –hosted their 2nd Annual Fashion for Peace gala evening on the 25th of April 2009. The spectacular event which was held at the Nairobi National Park began with a game drive for guests who could catch a glimpse of giraffes, lions and zebras before being dropped at the megadome set-up in the heart of the park. A sunset cocktail welcomed guests who then sat down for dinner and show. Pop Star Sinitta, who is known for hit songs such as “So Macho” and “Toy Boy” and who more recently has been part of Sinom Cowell’s top show The X-factor, was flown in by Virgin Atlantic to attend the event. “I was amazed with the craftsmanship and beauty of the collections I saw on the catwalk. We need to start appreciating what African designers have to offer and give them more visibility on the international fashion scene. I think was FAFA is doing with Fashion for Peace is inspiring; it’s about time we start celebrating African talent ” says Sinitta.
